Family Ministries - First Grapevine Methodist Church

Last Sunday, June 28, the First Grapevine youth got together with two other area church youth groups for a night of Whirlyball, laser tag, and arcade games. It was a great time of community as students from different churches came together, shared pizza, and played—not as separate groups, but as one Body of Christ. Jon Magill, our Assistant Youth Director, shared the following about the evening, "One especially meaningful moment happened when a family not associated with any of the youth groups came in to celebrate their son’s birthday. Instead of being turned away or ignored, they were welcomed with open arms and invited to stay and join in the fun. What made the night even more special was the way our youth interacted with them—introducing themselves, including them in the activities, and making them feel like they belonged. It was a powerful reminder of what it looks like to live out Christ’s love through hospitality and community."

This summer, First Grapevine's Children's Sunday School is rolling out a camp-inspired feel - something we're calling Kids Camp Sundays. This fun, faith-filled experience brings the joy of an outdoor camp right into our church (with the added bonus of no poison ivy or your clothes smelling like smoke for weeks!) Each week, kids pre-K through 5th grade dive deeper into Bible lessons, enjoy "Jamming with Josh" camp favorites during music time, and take part in creative, hands-on crafts that capture the excitement of summer camp. As part of our 11 AM services yesterday (May 3), First Grapevine Methodist Church had the honor and since joy of confirming six new members into the faith! Olivia Goheen, Quinton Gregory, Zander Lemman, Dylan Rasmussen, Tyler Rasmussen, and Quinn Willis were officially confirmed and took their vows of membership during the 11 AM Contemporary service, and then immediately went to the Sanctuary to be officially welcomed by the 11 AM Traditional congregation. While all these fine young Christians are already active and integral parts of the First Grapevine family, please join us in officially welcoming them to full active membership. Congrats to our Confirmands and their Confirmation Class leaders Josh Ingram and Jon Magill!
