In 2022, she slipped out of her collar for a solo adventure while on a walk in a coastal region of England. After frantic public appeals for help from her family, she was spotted via drone far out on dangerous wetlands that tend to flood during high tide. Initial rescue attempts only spooked her further, and with time running out, one drone pilot had an unconventional, and tasty, last-ditch idea: using sausage to lure Millie back. The local community quickly got to work, with neighbors rapidly supplying and cooking several links that were then flown out via drone. The culinary contingency plan worked, and Millie followed the flying sausage links inland to safety. With the help of a creative drone operator and a caring community, Millie was finally reunited with her relieved owners later that day. 14/10 for everybody 06/23/2025
