Thomas Jefferson's birthday was Monday....each year we make dishes he served at Monticello. He was America's 1st Foodie....had TV been invented then he'd have had his own cooking show. He entertained at least 12 guests at dinner every night when at Monticello. Many of his travels were to recruit new recipes to serve guests. Come explore what could be a taste of history for dinner at your home this month....several items more than pic. Given such a lifestyle of leadership I have always expected his level of polish in matters would confirm he'd have the courtesy to RSVP to my invite each year to attend a chance at his own food...as he'd be 283 years old this year I figure he has nothing else to do but come visit...? HIs best quote ever: "...coffee is the favorite drink of the civilized world...." Love his coffee priority in life of course...if he shows up this month he'll go bonkers over our house blend.

Hope u enjoyed the 72 degree summer we had Tuesday...snow flurries last night and 3" possible Sunday. So yes, that means it's still SOUP weather, though I love soup all year. My favorite meal is always any good soup and bread...this happened to be Bosc Pear Feta Gorgonzola Focaccia and also Leek Spud Parmesan Focaccia. If ur looking for simple dinner...! So, given the sub zero chill of late...I can't stop making scratch...salt-free soups...a favorite thing for me to make. As of today I now have 12 to pick from. I love to see what ur making at home in this chill....ideal kitchen time when it's so cold. Having the right kitchen tools makes ur own home-soup-making experience even more fun....I've just made several more Cutting Boards of various sizes to enhance a fun kitchen day with a good knife!
