GRWebDev: Grand Rapids Web Development Group Presents Sloth I: Bluetooth Low Energy in Mobile Applications - Monday, October 23 · 6 - 8pm
Most folks take for granted the ability to wirelessly connect their mobile phone to various devices. But what exactly is happening when we take a ride on a Lime scooter or track our personal belongings using smart tags?
Over the past few years, SlothWerks has helped several clients release mobile apps which utilize Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with peripheral devices. This month at GRWebDev, Sloth will explore what this looks like from a code perspective, the challenges encountered during the development process, and the solutions his team implemented to ensure a successful launch.
This will be a hybrid event; join us in person or online via Zoom. More information here - www.eventbrite.com/e/grwebdev-presents-sloth-i-bluetooth-low-energy-in-mobile-applications-tickets-734205467317?aff=oddtdtcreator

To our Little Space Studio community,
It is with mixed emotions we write to inform you of an important decision we have made.
After much reflection, we have decided to downsize our operations on the first floor drop-in coworking of The Harris Building on October 31st. Our current third-floor Professional membership will continue operations until further notice. At this time we are no longer taking inquiries for events. Punch cardholders have till the end of October to use their passes, Please reach out if you have additional questions. Meeting rooms will also be available to book on our website through the end of October.
We are still in the process of getting more information to share with you about the decisions we are making. As of right now, the team felt it was necessary and important to make a decision on the first floor and inform you about it. Our team deeply appreciates your patience as we continue to plan our next steps with our community at the center of our priorities.
This decision was not made lightly, and comes with a heavy heart. We have cherished every moment of being a part of this vibrant community, and the connections we’ve made here have been truly invaluable. Our hope is that we can continue to foster and grow these relationships at our Zeeland location or possibly our next GR location.
Over our time at The Harris Building and the Heartside neighborhood, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing the growth and creativity of each member of our community. We are profoundly grateful for the trust you placed in us and the incredible work that has come to life within these walls.
A huge part of our success and gratitude goes to Abbey and The Mortals. The cafe was a perfect touch for our vision of creating the perfect coworking space. We are proud of Abbey’s hard work and dedication to creating a safe space to talk about death. While we know this was equally a difficult decision for Abbey, we understand and support her decision to put the cafe to rest at the end of September. Check out The Mortals Cafe’s social media to see how you can continue to support her work in the community. The Mortals
While this chapter is coming to a close, this is not the end for Little Space Studio. We still have our Zeeland Location. If you are interested in learning more about the suites that are available in Zeeland please reach out to [email protected]
Members and community supporters: As questions come up, feel welcome to write to us. If there’s any way we can assist you during this transition please reach out to us at [email protected]
With Gratitude,
The team at Little Space Studio

We at Little Space Studio are feeling bittersweet at the news of The Mortals being put to rest. Please come out for a taste before September 29th! ☕
Read the update below to see how you can continue to stay updated with events and resources. ❤️
Update for The Mortals:
I have some sad news to tell folks. The Harris Building is currently under a pending sale and I am not comfortable with the new management direction. With respect to members of our community, we are choosing to care for their comfort and voices over our continued business in their space.
We don’t know how quickly the sale will take place, but I am choosing to put The Mortals to rest at the end of September. This means your LAST chance to pop in, enjoy our space, and have our monthly potion is Friday, September 29.
It crushes me to put down something I have been so passionate about as a means to harbor casual conversations around death. It seemed we were just getting started on rolling out some really cool programs and events. These past 2 years we have seen Division Ave in Heartside become even cooler - fresh and fun businesses have popped up alongside others that have been here for decades. I am incredibly grateful to share the RADDEST street with them!
Even without The Harris, we will continue to be an advocate in the death space, and If you’re fans of our Cafe Mortel session, don’t despair! We have The Mortals Portal on Facebook where there will be updates on our latest events, resources, and even some morbid memes!
To wrap this up, I want to send a massive THANK YOU to the incredibly supportive businesses along Division Ave, both old and new; and the community within The Harris building which includes Little Space Studio, Harris Events, all the freelancers, artists, entrepreneurs, and cafe goers that really made this space come to life!
Tears, no regrets, & thank you everyone!
