So, I completed these a while back. Luisa specifically requested some ruby reds, and then handed over her well-loved, fungus infested sneakers. I think they turned out well - scattered, smuthered, and covered with all sorts of goods I found under the couch and in the pantry corner. Stayed tuned for a gold version...

Mandy Cano Villalobos’ studio is an extension of her practice: rigorous, process-driven, and deeply committed to history, memory, and the human body. Working across installation, sculpture, painting, and performance, her work investigates cultural memory and domestic labor with intensity and care.

These visits are essential. They remind us what it means to support artists beyond the exhibition - to witness the making, the discipline, and the interior logic of the work itself.
