Its the Soldier, not the reporter who gives you freedom of the press. Its the Soldier, not the poet who gives you freedom of speech. Its the Soldier, not the campus organizer who allows you to demonstrate. Its the Soldier, who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin is draped with the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag!

Can anything be more ironic than the lives of our nation's military? They love America, so they spend long years in foreign lands far from her shores. They revere freedom, yet they sacrifice their own so that others may be free. They defend their own right to live as individuals, yet yield their individuality in that cause. Perhaps, one of the biggest paradoxes of all, they value life, yet so bravely they ready themselves to die in the service of their country.

When we think of our Service Members and Veterans, they deserve a special place of honor in our society, and in our culture, because they have written a blank check, backed by their own life and limb, serving in place of all of us who do not go, and to keep us free.

Today and everyday, please thank our Veteran's and Service Members for all they do for us and our freedoms. Freedom isn't free. It always comes with a price. Paid for by the Soldiers and their families. Thank you!

My office for the weekend. Kalamazoo Comic Con. Got to have dinner with Barry Bostwick last night. All I can say is “Dam It Janet Lets Go Screw!!” If you know you know. What an amazing guy.
