What a wonderful day at the Grand Rapids Asian Pacific Festival 2026! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯’🎢

From the delicious foods to the wonderful music and vibrant atmosphere, it was a day filled with culture, fun, and great memories. For some of the individuals we support, the experience brought back fond memories and made them feel as though they were back in their home. ❀️🌏

Culture, community, and fun, a perfect day!

πŸ¦’βœ¨ Remember a few months back when our Life Skills participants were hard at work fundraising for a special adventure? The day finally arrived!

Several of our Life Skills groups recently visited Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park, where they met giraffes, llamas, aquatic animals, and so much more. From feeding animals to exploring new exhibits, it was truly an adventure to remember. The smiles, laughter, and excitement on their faces made all the hard work worthwhile!

These photos are just a small glimpse of the joy and memories created during this special trip.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported their fundraising efforts. Your generosity helped make it possible for our participants to experience a day that many will remember for years to come. We are grateful for all you do to help create opportunities like this. β™₯οΈπŸΎπŸ¦›

🎢 Sometimes the best moments come from simply finding your voice. Today, with a little encouragement and support from staff, one of our participants sang β€œLean on Me” loud and proud! πŸ’™

The smiles, confidence, and joy that filled the room were contagious. Moments like these remind us that with support and friendship, we can accomplish amazing things. 🎀✨

Oh, the Places We Go! 🎳

Our participants love bowling, and today two groups came together for a few fun games. Watching friendships grow, laughter fill the lanes, and participants encourage one another is truly priceless.

While the cost of bowling may seem small to some, for many of our participants, the few dollars needed for a game and shoe rental represent all of their extra spending money for the month. Opportunities like bowling, trips to the zoo, special outings, and community events make a meaningful difference in their lives.

If you’re ever looking for a way to give back, Thresholds gladly accepts donations to support our Life Skills Program. Your generosity helps create memorable experiences, build friendships, and provide opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach for the people we serve.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps open the door to new adventures and meaningful community experiences. ❀️🎳🐾🦁🌟

A beautiful day at Millennium Park! 🌞🌿

Thanks to the memorial gift from Sandy Hanson, we were able to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and walk the shoreline trails together today. The sunshine, scenery, and great company made for a wonderful outing! πŸ’™πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

The Thresholds Self-Advocacy Advisory Council met today! Throughout the year, this dedicated group provides valuable input on Thresholds programs, offers feedback, and works on special projects that help improve services for everyone.

Right now, the council is busy planning our Annual Client Picnic happening next week. Members always bring great ideas, enthusiasm, and teamwork to every meeting.

The group also shared ideas for expanding our monthly training modules, creating more opportunities for participants to learn new skills, build confidence, and enhance their independence. We appreciate the voices and leadership of our self-advocates as they continue to make a positive impact at Thresholds!
