This week a new malware has started spreading across the U.S. This malware is called XLoader and it is effecting Windows and Mac devices. XLoader is activated on your device by opening links in phishing emails/Scam emails. XLoader is stealthy, one way to tell if you are already compromised is to,
1. Go to /Users/[username]/Library/LaunchAgents directory
2. Check for suspicious filenames in this directory (example below is a random name)
/Users/user/Library/LaunchAgents/com.wznlVRt83Jsd.HPyT0b4Hwxh.plist ,
One way to prevent users from ever getting these types of phishing emails is by using a email filtering service with your business email solution. This can prevent the chance of anyone ever clicking on them to begin with. If you are currently not utilizing a service like this and are interested, please reach out to us to discuss more.
