A fabric can have excellent tear strength, so how can it lose to a single puncture?

Puncture force can be sharp, like a trailer corner, or blunt, like a ball hitting a wall pad. Either way, one impact can turn into an unplanned tear, repair, or replacement.

Puncture resistance depends on how each fabric layer is built.
✅ Base cloth and weave density absorb the force
✅ Coating adhesion strength that keeps the coating and base yarns working together after impact
✅ Yarn tenacity redistributes stress around the impact point

Every Value Vinyls fabric is purpose-built layer by layer, then pushed to its breaking point in our V2 Performance Lab through 16 destructive tests: puncture, tear, adhesion, and more.

Our fabrics carry your name. We make sure their performance isn't a sourcing decision you have to defend.

Indoor and outdoor athletic vinyl may share the same category, but that doesn't mean they should be built the same way. Here's why that matters.

School gym wall pads live indoors in climate control, around kids.
Outdoor stadium wall pads face sun, rain, and wide temperature swings.

Value Vinyls engineers our fabrics for the exact demands of your application:
✅ Yarn, weave, and coating set structural strength and impact performance
✅ Coating weight and adhesion support repeated contact
✅ Cold-flex properties built for unheated or seasonal environments
✅ Surface chemistry tuned for UV exposure indoors or out

Outdoor athletic vinyl is not indoor vinyl with a different sticker. It's a different build for a different environment.

Outdoor stadium wall pad fabric fails differently than indoor ones do.
When the fabric is not properly protected, warranty complaints can start surfacing before the season is over. These are the most common reasons.

❌ UV exposure fades color and eats the coating
❌ Surface abrasion thins the material under repeated impact, worsened by weather
❌ Once the surface weakens, early breakdown failure follows

Asking the right application questions before sourcing helps you reduce that risk, but application is only half the conversation.

So if early fabric failure complaints still follow, where is the risk actually coming from?

Find out on Thursday. It's already shaping your exposure before the order is even placed.

Don't want to wait? Give us a call and let's compare what you're seeing in your outdoor fabric against what is showing up across the market right now.

This certain style of trailer became so associated with retractable sliding tarp systems that the whole category took the name.
(We have the answer to this week's trivia question).

Most truck tarp fabric was not built for collapsible frames. Tempo 680 was created for these systems.

A rolling tarp covers the roof and both sides as one piece, cycling through tension and compression every time the frame moves to expose the entire flatbed. The fabric has to hold up to all of it.

✅ Wide-width and weldable to reduce seams and fabrication time
✅ Gloss finish that sheds dirt and holds fleet graphics mile after mile
✅ Two versions: Tempo 680S for conventional frames, Tempo 680PB for multi-panel systems

The right match between fabric and frame is where performance starts.. https://bit.ly/4fsWETp
