As I’m approaching year 25, I think about that little girl… the one with the undiagnosed ADHD who would cry out over the overwhelming feeling of frustration and just defeat. When coloring within the lines or trying to perfect cursive in the 2nd grade seemed impossible.

I also had all of the odds stacked against me being a lefty, too lol.

The honest truth? I still have those moments where a laptop is slammed shut, I’m ugly-crying on my way home, or I’m not a fun person to be around because I’m beyond stressed.

All of this to say is that those discouraging moments as a child, and even now, did and do define me…because I obviously have a knack for choosing the route that’s not the easy one.

Even the girl one year ago doubted herself immensely and had so much insecurity for the future.

I still have those moments of doubt, but I’ve proved to myself that tenacity is the only thing I can count on. It’s what’s gotten me to here.

And don’t think it’s been this pretty climb. It’s been ugly, depressing, isolating, and scary at times.

We’re here. We’ve gotten this far. Where to next?
