Forks Fighters

Hey gang,

Fight day tomorrow! It's our last legion show of the year and also the North Dakota state golden gloves advancement tournament. We want a great crowd and tons of support for all the athletes! Forks fighters team should be at the legion at 8am to help with ring set up! See you there everyone!

Congrats to Nate Rubin who represented Forks Fighters in Wadena last night. Nate fought a game opponent in Johnny Johnson. Nate was able to put him away with a viscous body attack earning a unanimous decision! Special thanks to Jesse Barbot and his team at Red River Golden Gloves for working the corner for Nate!

Practice again Monday gang. It's a new month so don't forget dues. See you all tomorrow.

How about them fights yesterday! Fantastic!

Youngster Eric Bogert led off the card for the gym. He fought the best we have ever seen him fight! Eric ended up losing a razor thin decision, but nothing to be ashamed of. Great fight!

Emiliano Toscano made his amateur boxing debut in the second fight on the card. Emiliano showed a solid jab and some good power during the fight, at one point delivering a standing 8 count to his opponent. This was another extremely close fight which didn't go our way. We may have to talk to coach Jesse in Fargo about a re-match!

Tony Morton got us in the win column with a solid performance in all 3 rounds while dispatching Gerald Cook of Red Lake.

Chris Morton Followed Tony and delivered a performance we have come accustomed to seeing from Chris. He dominated all 3 rounds and helped Forks Fighters get to 2-2 for the day!

Shannon Perez was up next on the card. Shannon got into the ring and was ready to go when the bad news came. The young lady Shannon was going to fight had a medical issue and was not able to compete. Shannon won the fight via medical walkover.

Finally Elijah Aaker stepped into the ring to face Joey Budzielek from Fargo. Both fighters were game and fought a tough back and forth contest. Elijah was able to earn the decision win in an excellent fight!

Forks Fighters went 4-2 on a day of excellent fights, great job team! Now we need to focus on getting back to the gym Monday so we can prepare for our next show.
