Engaging our community, together.

Collaboration between our fire districts has significantly improved the delivery of educational programs across our community. Over the past year, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, Graham Fire & Rescue, and Orting Valley Fire & Rescue have worked together to provide fire and life safety education to schools and other groups throughout our community. Consolidating resources allows the districts to provide standardized life-saving education to more community members.

In 2023, Graham Fire & Rescue and Orting Valley Fire & Rescue did not have adequate resources to offer fire safety classes within local schools. After collaborating with Central Pierce Fire & Rescue in 2024, fire and life safety education was delivered to multiple grade levels across 14 schools in the Graham service area, and 3 schools in the Orting Valley Fire & Rescue area. In total, critical life-saving curriculum was delivered to kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 5th grade classes across 77 schools in the Bethel, Franklin Pierce, Orting, and Puyallup School Districts.

This collaborative approach ensures that students from different areas receive the same information and empowers our youth to take charge of their personal safety.

Required Qualifications
▪️ High School Diploma or GED
▪️ A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in maintenance of parks, grounds, facilities and/or construction

Salary & Benefits
▪️ $64,140 - $77,616 annually
▪️ 100% employer-paid medical and dental premiums for employee and any dependents
▪️ Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
▪️ PERS 2 or 3 retirement through WA State
