We saw this case back for a 6 month recall this week. It’s always amazing how people can have such large lesions and not even know it! With such a large lesion a root fracture is always a possibility, but the patient wanted to try to save it, and so did we! Sure glad we did! The previous root canal treatment had some deficiencies. We obtained additional length in all canals, treated additional distal canal anatomy, and did a few weeks of calcium hydroxide. No fractures were noted internally. Pretty significant healing for 6 months on such a large lesion! Furcation bone almost completely restored with PDL and lamina dura. A little apical healing yet to go but it’s looking good! Happy and completely asymptomatic patient!
