Colorado’s fire risk doesn’t take a holiday. A few checks now could make all the difference:

0–5 ft: Clear all vegetation, swap mulch for gravel
5–30 ft: Thin trees, reduce fuels
30–100 ft: Extend defensible space (more on slopes)
Check roofs, vents & gutters — embers can travel over a mile
Document your property before fire season peaks
