Tree of the Week: White Ash (Fraxinus americana)
The white ash tree, also known as the , is native to eastern North America. It is one of the most used trees for everyday purposes and has been the timber of choice for baseball bats, furniture, and flooring until now. Due to the invasive , 7.5 billion ash trees in the United States are now threatened. EAB has already wiped out hundreds of millions of ash trees so far. While this horrific pest prefers green ash and black ash trees, white ash trees are also being rapidly killed.
