Cooper Counseling Center is growing! We are excited to welcome Marisa to our team. She will be providing reduced-cost therapy with the added benefit of a clinical team to oversee the care of her clients. Marisa has shared a little about herself below.
Hello! My name is Marisa. I was born and raised in Arizona, and I am very proud to call this beautiful desert home. I am an avid hiker, novice powerlifter, book worm, and animal lover. I have also recently embarked on my own personal journey of practicing mindfulness and meditation, and I continue to learn more every day. While these are hobbies you may find me practicing in my free time, throughout my career I have dedicated myself to serving my community and helping people improve their lives the best I can.
As an intern with Cooper Counseling Center, I utilize tools from a variety of theoretical approaches and perspectives, strongly believing that each of us have our own individual strengths and opportunities for growth with unique needs. In my work, I utilize a solution-focused, empowerment-based approach, understanding that while many of our concerns may take a longer time to resolve or explore, it is helpful to learn strategies or tools that can help us feel better in the meantime.
