A friend reminded us today how much work we've done with fMRI, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging. We set up transcendental meditation studies in Hawaii, with one person in another room and another person receiving images inside the scanner; at Univ of NM on a prisoner study for violent inmates, teaching at SMIL when introducing fMRI for legal purposes of lie detection. The processes for setting up good parameters are the same, no matter the Make & Model of the scanner. Excellent patient coaching, patient immobilization, elimination of the momentary transitional phases, and LOTS of practice!

Ok newbies...if you're going to use a power injector with your MRI exam, make sure the syringes are pointed downward, so any potential air doesn't go in the IV.

Just heard about a new MRI system without a quench pipe! If it quenches, it will recycle the dispersed cryogen for use in the magnet!
