Another hospital to add to my badge list- Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Collaboration, continuity of care, and centered support for birthing families are essential and I'm grateful to be part of a care environment that values those things.

Started a little project this year to look back on all the babies and families I have had the privilege of supporting as a doula, and as I love to crochet, yarn seemed like the perfect medium 🧶 One pom pom for each baby I have had the honor to either witness their birth (left jar) or be entrusted to assist with their care in the early weeks of their life (right jar). 2025 was an amazing year or growth for Wildflower Doula Care, and I am so very blessed to be doing this work that I love. Thank you to all the families that allowed me to be a part of such a special time in your lives, and looking forward to what 2026 will bring-

This work has always been a part of me.
Before I knew the word, “Doula”, I knew how it felt to nurture. From as far back as I can remember I was always caring for my “babies”, and dreaming of the day I’d care for real little ones. My passion started early, and it continues to grow with every family I support. I’m so blessed that I get to do this work. 🩷🌻

Mama in early labor and an overnight shift with a sweet little two week old, could be a busy night!

Yesterday, my husband and I visited the birthing scene petroglyph near Moab, Utah — a powerful, ancient depiction of one of humanity’s most timeless experiences: birth.

As a doula, birth is always on my heart — but standing in front of that rock face, I could feel the echoes of generations past. This ancient carving of a birthing person was etched into stone by the hands of the Fremont people somewhere between AD 450-1300.

It reminded me that birth has always been a part of us — a moment so powerful it was worthy of being recorded in stone. Birth has always been sacred, raw, and deeply human. Long before hospitals and monitors, birth was witnessed, supported, and honored by communities.

I felt a deep sense of connection — to the people who birthed here long ago, and to the ones I walk beside today. Birth is ancient. And it is still just as powerful today.
