Hello ALAGN Track and Field Families,

We would like to take a moment to remind all parents and athletes that as we enter into the last half of the season that Arizona temperatures will continue to increase putting athletes at risk of dehydration and sunburn.

It only takes 1-2 hours to dehydrate when exposed to high temperatures and the only way to fight this is to replenish electrolytes and sodium lost while sweating. Our athletes are on the field for multiple events which leaves them susceptible to rapid water loss and severe sunburns.

We are asking that all parents and athletes help us maintain safety while at meets by ensuring that all participants come prepared with plenty of water, zero sugar sports drinks , salty snacks, protein bars, sunscreen, etc for the remainder of the season.
