This upright prairie coneflower caught my attention not because of the striking yellow, but the lovely blends of greens behind it. Such an elemental contrast of the masculine power in the flower, and the feminine softness behind.

Another stunner I was lucky enough to capture. This is at Bridal Veil Falls, at the Columbia River Gorge. I shot this at the bottom of the falls, a 120' drop as the water makes a sharp turn through a narrow passageway. Misty yet clear, calm yet turbulent. An image that captures the opposition of so many things, and somehow,, everything flows together.

Can you believe that this little guy is just down the road from me? A burrowing owl found in Zanjero Park, in Gilbert and he is striking. We held quite the conversation that day, wisdom passing and thoughts exchanged.

Flowers always hold such an important place in my photography efforts, but a close second is simply the rest of nature, and capturing her beauty. Taken up at the Columbia River Gorge area in Oregon, I fell in love with the movement of the water here, with the sublime green colors and textures.
