fi architecture is proud to collaborate with the Tonto Apache Nation and Heritage Distilling Company, Inc on an exciting venture: Arizona's first tribally owned distillery. The initial phase of the Apache Corners project aims to revitalize the under-utilized west side of the tribe’s Mazatzal Hotel & Casino property in Payson, Arizona.

This initiative seeks to enhance cultural and economic opportunities for the Tonto Apache Nation while providing a unique destination for visitors and locals. By establishing a distillery, we aim to promote local heritage, create jobs, and foster community engagement through various facilities, including the following key components.

• HDC Tasting Room: A welcoming space designed for visitors to experience and sample the unique offerings of the distillery, featuring local flavors and craftsmanship.
• Production Operations Building: A dedicated facility for spirits processing and bottling, built to maintain high-quality production standards and support the distillery's operational needs.
• Food Service Building: This area will offer a diverse range of culinary options, enhancing the visitor experience and providing residents with a new dining destination.
• Outdoor Plaza and Entertainment District: A vibrant venue equipped with a stage and support spaces, this area will host concerts and community events, fostering cultural engagement and providing entertainment for all.

The Apache Corners project not only aims to create a new hub of activity in Payson but also seeks to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Tonto Apache Nation. Through this collaboration, we are excited to contribute to the economic vitality of the region while providing a unique experience that showcases the distinct character of the community.

Design efforts for this initial scope are led by fi architecture, in collaboration with Long Design Associates LLC as the Architect of Record, and Pimmex-Chase serving as General Contractor and Project Manager. Special thanks to Justin Stiefel, CEO of Heritage Distilling Company and Eric Trevan, Ph.D., President of aLocal Solutions.
