A revival in town this week in August 2025: The railroad arrives once more. Scenic train starts in September 2025.
Now the cool portions of the pictures -

The view last week from a visitor seeing the scenic train go north near the McLean Farm at the foot of Oak Hill.

Jennie's beloved friend, possible her future husband, was Jack Skelly. His birth certificate read Johnston Hastings "Jack" Skelly Jr. (1841–1863) A Union Corporal within the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry, he was shot in the upper arm at the Second Battle of Wi******er on June 15th. He passed away due to his wounds 9 days after his "Jennie" died in a field hospital, not knowing his loved ones would never see him again. He is buried behind the Jennie Wade monument about 75-80 yards.
Here is his gravesite at the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in July 2013.
