Today we are mourning the loss of one of our own Fly By Night Crew alumni, trick rider, Brandy Crago. Brandy performed her trick riding acts at many Dave Martin Championship rodeos back in the 1980’s and 90’s. She was one of those people that animals of all kinds were naturally drawn to under a higher sense of understanding that she was a gentle soul. She always had dogs that would listen to her every word and perform tricks on command. She was known for using beautiful fast running paint horses like the one in this Casey Martin photo from Shartlesville, Pa, possibly her last performance at one of our shows. She went on to devote herself to her faith and was the founder of the Shining Stars therapeutic riding program at Freedom Valley Church here in Gettysburg which is so popular that it raised enough money to build its own indoor arena. With confidence I can say that Brandy was genuinely one of the nicest people and the most talented animal trainers I had the pleasure of knowing. Prayers to her family in this time of healing.
