to the early 1940s at Loveland.
Long before chairlifts, the Snowboat, pulled by an Oliver tractor, carried skiers uphill. Also known as the Boat Tow, it played an important role in Loveland's early history and helped introduce generations of skiers to the mountain.
It's amazing to see how far lift technology has come while our passion for skiing remains the same.

This throwback shows flags from around the world flying above the mountain, welcoming visitors from near and far. With the FIFA World Cup bringing nations and cultures together through sport this summer, it feels like the perfect time to revisit this piece of Loveland history.
Some things never change: good snow, great views, and a love of the mountains that speaks every language.
