Becky Addona TLC Run

We are excited to announce that last week, The Becky Addona TLC Grant foundation awarded $6313.96 in grants to Geneva City School Teachers at HeadStart/UPK, West Street School and North Street School. Started in 2018 after the passing of Becky Addona, who was a teacher for over 30 years, funding for these grants has come from private donations, community business sponsors and through the Becky Addona TLC 5K Run/Walk. Since 2018, over $12,000 in grants have been awarded to Geneva teachers. These grants support our mission to provide support for teachers pursuing innovative ways to Teach, Learn and Create, while employing "many varied and unusual way" to reach ALL children, providing students at every level with exciting and challenging classroom experiences. Congratulations to our 2019-2020 grant winners!

While we have remained optimistic about holding the 2nd annual Becky Addona TLC 5K, the race which would have been held on June 20, 2020, has to be cancelled. Maintaining the health and safety of our participants and community is the first priority for our family. Teachers have submitted grants this spring, and we will still be awarding those grants in June 2020. We are so excited! Watch for more details soon!

Becky Addona was a teacher for many years and her students were of utmost importance each and every day. While it was always about the learning process, our mom understood that the basic needs of kids had to be met before they would be able to concentrate in the classroom. This year, in these unprecedented times, we hope you will join us in donating to the local community as everyone works to get back to normal.
