You rested the shoulder. You did the rehab. It calmed down. You went back to training, and the same shoulder, in the same spot, started talking to you again.

That is not a sign you did the rehab wrong. It is a sign the rehab was aimed at the wrong target.

The shoulder gives up more stability for mobility than any major joint in the body. It depends completely on the structures around it, the mid-back and the shoulder blade, for a stable base and shared load. When those are not doing their job, the shoulder absorbs the difference until the tissue reaches its limit. The pain shows up at the shoulder. That does not mean the shoulder is the cause.

A shoulder that keeps coming back is a compensation pattern, not an isolated injury. The recurrence is the signal.

New blog: Why Your Shoulder Keeps Coming Back, the compensation pattern that drives it, and what actually has to change to break the cycle.
