This honor recognizes the dedication, craftsmanship, and innovation that went into restoring this building to better serve the community of Batavia. Winning this award reflects the hard work of our entire team and the invaluable collaboration with partners committed to delivering excellence in adaptive reuse design.
A huge thank you to the Masonry Advisory Council for this prestigious recognition, and to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We are proud to contribute to spaces that inspire and serve.

Renovations are underway at the Danada House! Check out this video for a behind-the-scenes look at how Allen+Pepa, Featherstone, and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County are working together to deliver a successful project.
Originally built in 1939, this beautiful estate is now a popular wedding venue within the scenic Danada Forest Preserve. Renovations to the building began in April to renew and restore this historic building.
The primary goals of the project include:
• Repairing and replacing aging materials
• Improving building accessibility with new ramps and a lift
• Improving energy efficiency with new lighting and insulation
• Improving safety with integrated fire protection and detection
• Improving function with surgical interior spatial reconfiguration
When complete, the building will be more functional and beautiful for the venue operators and guests. It will also be easier for the Forest Preserve District to maintain, preserving the building’s function and beauty for years to come.
