I’m not sure where to start, but perhaps at the end, and not the beginning…
Because He was an unbroken circle…woven through the years and the eyes of an old soul, long before he was old.

Little Man, David, David Fithian, Fithian Art…
My sweet friend, Jude’s partner, not in crime,
but in Peace.

The last weekend he walked this earth, I had the honor of staying up late listening to him,
telling stories I had never heard before, traveling through boxes of family pictures, time warping through the 70’s and arriving here,
in 2026…
on this last Saturday night
and awakening early on this last Sunday morning,
two cups of coffee in,
the stories becoming a whisper, with long pauses in between….

This man with the profound ability to stand still for hours, watching the sky, reflections on the water, devouring every moment into his mind, a kaleidoscope of vintage slides, that without further reference, without a camera,
He could retrieve and bring to light with a paintbrush, a pen, wax crayons…

Was passing. “Going” he called it. Not dying. Just going. He told me how blessed he was to have lived HIS life, to have seen the world, not through anyone elses point of view, through his eyes… where there was technicolor in wet sand, profound joy in the salty air, Peace in everything he saw. Because he was blessed to have seen the world as an artist from a tiny age, he felt protected and shielded from a lot of the ugliness of everyday life…

He said He was ready to go…because he had lived a good life, and a full life, and had shared that with good people…
And a few good strangers.

I don’t have to remind you to Rest in Peace sweet friend, because you Lived in Peace…
