Did you know that immediate CPR and early defibrillation give someone experiencing cardiac arrest the best chance of survival? Every minute counts, and quick access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can save a life.

You can help make AEDs more accessible in our community by registering your business as an AED location. Simply scan the QR code and register your device. Once registered, 911 telecommunicators will know if your AED is nearby and may be able to direct someone to it during a cardiac emergency.

Registration is free, takes only a few minutes, and could make a life-saving difference for someone in need.

The Town of Garner is considering updates to its fire regulations as part of the Code Revision Project. Proposed amendment topics include:
• Recreational fire, fire pit, outdoor fireplace, and bonfire regulations
• Fire department responsibilities following the Garner Fire Rescue merger
• Commercial fire alarm monitoring requirements

A Public Service Message from your Garner Fire-Rescue family:

Every year, thousands of people are injured badly enough to require medical treatment after fireworks-related incidents, with many of the injuries to children and young adults. While the majority of these incidents are due to amateurs attempting to use professional-grade, homemade or other illegal fireworks or explosives, less powerful devices like small firecrackers and sparklers can also cause significant injuries.

Please leave the fireworks to the professionals and if using them at home, only allow adults to light them. Have a fire extinguisher and a water hose close by and be aware of dry, combustible materials that could easily ignite during this extreme drought season!
