Rubber is obtained from special trees known as rubber trees. When a tree reaches maturity—typically around six or seven years old—a farmer makes a slanted cut in its bark. From this cut, a white, milky liquid called latex slowly drips out. A small cup is placed beneath the cut to collect the latex over several hours. This process, known as tapping, is usually carried out early in the morning and only every other day to protect the health of the tree. Once enough latex has been gathered, it is transported for processing and transformed into rubber, which is then used to make products such as tires, gloves, and many other items. #didyouknow #wildlife #history #reels #trending
