Thank you to Sam's Club #4925 on Greenville and the Walmart Spark Good program for awarding Any Step Community Services a $300 grant in support of our Healthy Steps Recipe Kit Program!

Honored for our CEO Sydney I Portilla-Diggs to continue serving as a member of the Cancer Survivorship & Cardiovascular Wellness Community Advisory Board coordinated by Kelseanna Hollis-Hansen at the Tufts Food is Medicine Institute.

This collaborative advisory group works together to help design projects that support individuals after cancer treatment, with a focus on strengthening cardiometabolic health, whole-person wellness, and long-term quality of life.

For Any Step Community Services, this work deeply aligns with our mission to support older adult households through nutritious food access, wellness education, dignity-centered service, and meaningful community connection.

We continue to believe that food is more than nourishment. Food can be prevention, healing, culture, comfort, and hospitality.

Some moments feel especially meaningful because they represent the intersection of vision, mentorship, and community.

This week, our CEO Sydney I Portilla-Diggs had the opportunity to attend a South Dallas community meet-up focused on connection, collaboration, and impact. I left deeply encouraged by the number of individuals and organizations committed to strengthening communities through service, leadership, and authentic partnership.

One of the highlights of the evening was finally meeting Dr Froswa Booker face-to-face after years of learning from and being inspired by her work from afar. Her leadership, wisdom, and commitment to community engagement have encouraged so many leaders across Dallas, including me.

The evening also reminded me of something important: meaningful impact rarely happens in isolation. It grows through relationships, shared vision, collaboration, and people willing to create space for others at the table.

I am grateful for every new connection made, every conversation shared, and every opportunity to continue expanding Any Step Community Services' presence and partnerships in South Dallas.

The work continues — and so does the community. 💙
