Not knowing the community's languages before addressing their other needs. ✋🏼🟥
What other things in language inclusion deserve a red card? 🚩⚽️

🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ June is Pride month, a time for celebration, commemoration, and protest centered on the LGBTQIA+ community.
Across the world, millions of displaced and asylum-seeking LGBTQIA+ people are systematically overlooked by aid organizations. Some of the countries where this marginalization is most intense are also the most linguistically diverse, compounding the threats to their safety.
We urge humanitarian organizations to be true allies for the LGBTQIA+ community. Review your organization's programs and policies in light of data and lived experiences to ensure the specific needs of LGBTQIA+ people in crises, including their language preferences, are taken care of.

June 20th is World Refugee Day.
Using the right language is important for refugees' rights. Without it, there is no safety.
CLEAR Global stands with refugees and their right to safety. Our mission is to get people vital information in their language. Our app Tarjimly was built with refugees in mind, and this year, we'll be able to scale it in Uganda, where displaced people will have access to interpretation services to receive essential information and be heard.
