🌟MEET OUR MEMBERS🌟

Sarah Cegelski is this year's Resiterns President and has been in Resiterns since 2018. In a former life, Sarah got her Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) and taught Spanish at the college and high school levels. Now, she is a stay-at-home parent to three children and works part-time as a Spanish tutor and academic copyeditor. She is married to Jeff Cegelski (Anesthesiology PGY-4) and they have 3 kids (Calvin, Julian, and Stella). They love to go on date nights to DTO, watch stand-up comedy specials, and take their kids to the beach.

"I'm BOI (Born on the Island), and after many years living elsewhere, I never imagined I'd be living in Galveston again! Even though I'm from here, Resiterns has been such an important support for me and my family during residency. No one gets the medical training journey like other people who are on it with you! I love connecting with other amazing "trailing spouses" and help plan fun events, and Jeff loves the chance to hang out with other residents outside the hospital. Our favorite Resiterns events are the happy hours because we love to meet up for chill drinks with friends, and also Friendsgiving, which we host at my parents' house on the bay!"

We had a great time at the Newcomers Brunch, we had some very delicious food and look how fancy our members looked while drinking mimosas and bellinis, thank you all for coming! 😀
