Terran Last Gun will speak on the topic of Ledger Art: Where Indigenous America and USA Converge about his artistic process and the larger history of ledger art in context.

Terran Last Gun (Piikani) is a visual artist based in Santa Fe, NM. Born and raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana, Last Gun draws inspiration from land, cosmos, cultural narratives, and experiences to inform his practice. Working across media, he pushes the boundaries of Piikani abstraction and the long tradition of ledger art.

Visitors have a rare opportunity to look at the artist’s sketch books and learn about his process of documenting color and titling his works. He will bring in ledger books and other source materials that inspire his work.
