Gainesville Fire Rescue

GFR and ACFR crews responded to 2100 NW 54th TER, today for a structure fire. Crews arrived to heavy smoke and worked to keep the fire from extending beyond the room of origin. The fire was ultimately contained to the bathroom where it started, with smoke damage to the adjoining master bedroom. No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross is assisting the occupants. Incident Commander, Nick Gonzalez, would like to remind everyone that keeping interior doors closed at night can slow fire and smoke spread and give you more time to get out.

Gainesville Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire at 2720 SW 14th Dr. early this morning. The fire was held to the apartment of origin. The fire is out. No injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
