There is a difference between a home feeling cool and a home feeling dry. In June many homeowners notice the air feels heavier, rooms feel slightly clammy, or there is a lingering dampness they cannot quite explain. It is easy to assume the cooling system should be solving that, but comfort and moisture control are not always the same thing.
As humidity rises outside, some of that moisture can become trapped in places most people never see. Crawl spaces can begin holding damp air. Insulation can retain moisture. Areas with limited airflow can quietly create conditions that affect the feel of the whole home.
Sometimes that heavy indoor feeling is less about temperature and more about what is happening with ventilation and moisture balance. These early shifts are often subtle, but they can be worth paying attention to before they become larger concerns.
If your home has felt unusually damp this season, now may be the right time for an evaluation.
