Did you know alligators can grow up to 15 feet? Most only have 4, though.

In the early morning hours, while most of the city was asleep, one of our officers conducted a routine traffic stop that quickly turned into a significant criminal investigation.

What initially appeared to be an ordinary stop led to the discovery of equipment commonly used to program vehicle keys, along with multiple vehicle keys, a firearm, masks, and various items believed to be connected to criminal activity. Officers also located identifying information belonging to individuals who were not present at the scene.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle had spent an extended period inside one of our neighborhoods before the traffic stop, raising additional concerns about potential criminal activity.

Three juvenile suspects were taken into custody and now face multiple criminal charges. Detectives were called to assist with the investigation, which remains ongoing.

This incident is another reminder that proactive policing, keen observation, and thorough investigative work play a vital role in protecting our community. What begins as a simple traffic stop can often prevent future crimes and remove dangerous individuals and illegal weapons from our streets before innocent citizens become victims.
