Tucked into McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, Rattlesnake Canyon holds one of the largest collections of arches in North America outside of Utah. There are two ways in. You can take the long route, a strenuous 15+ miles round trip from Po***ck Bench, or cut it down to about 4 miles if you’ve got high-clearance 4WD to reach the upper trailhead. Either way, bring more water than you think you’ll need.

What you get is wide-open mesas, desert flowers tucked into the rock, sandstone cliffs, and quiet canyons that feel a long way from anywhere.
