A good friend of mine races his Jeep in Offroad Races, like Baja, the Mint, and a bunch of others in the Jeep Speed class, which falls under other names at various races. The Jeep is based off a Jeep TJ, and has a good mix of OEM, and race parts. He came to me to change out the worn out splined steering wheel shaft for a removable wheel. Then we found the upper bearing was worn out on the stock jeep column. Late night on a Sunday, we decided to just build a new steering column, since pieces were falling out of the old stock Jeep one. I found two pieces of tubing that fit nicely together, and a bearing to fit in the larger piece. Long story short in a few hours we had the old steering column out and a new one built and installed in a few hours. eazY-Peazy!
