Discovery Kids Learning Center

Once a year, the staff of Discovery Kids Learning Center, including both Fruita and Grand Junction locations, get to participate in a unified Staff Development Day. This event is filled with learning opportunities, community building activities, and staff celebrations. Our learning objectives included the following:

* "Choice Theory" as it relates to early childhood education and preschool behavioral practices.

* Cultivating a community of cohesiveness

* Recognizing the 5 universal practices that are the foundation of our program, including: Circle Time, Classroom Structure/Daily Schedules, Creative Curriculum (Play-Based), Classroom Setup (incorporating intentional learning centers to maximize learning outcomes), and Family engagement opportunities.

This day is designed to enhance our teachers' knowledge and skills in specialized areas related to Early Childhood Education. This opportunity promotes growth, improves job performance, and aligns staff to the mission of Discovery Kids Learning Center.
