It's a winter wonderland at Colorado National Monument! We received a lovely layer of snow overnight, creating beautiful contrast in the park. This photo shows this morning's rolling fog hanging quietly among the red rocks in Monument and Wedding Canyons, with Independence Monument standing tall above the snow.

If you're planning to visit, drive carefully. The road has been plowed and sanded, but it is snow-packed and icy in places. Also be on the lookout for bighorn sheep—we've had multiple sightings along Rim Rock Drive this week.
