When I'm working on a treatment plan for you, I'm running it through one filter: Would I want this done in MY mouth?
Is there a less invasive option? Can we preserve more tooth structure? Can we get a better outcome by solving the root cause first? That's the direction we go. Every time.
I see a lot of patients who come in wanting to fix teeth that are chipping or wearing down. And I COULD just crown them or veneer them and send you on your way. But if we haven't figured out WHY those teeth are breaking down, the same thing is going to happen eventually to the new restorations.
So we figure out the why first. Then we fix it in a way that's designed to last usually with far less removal of healthy tooth structure than you'd expect.
I'd rather do beautiful additive esthetic composite bonding or stunning minimally invasive porcelain veneers on teeth that have been repositioned correctly than aggressively cut down perfectly good enamel.
