The average woman is able to pump 1oz-2oz a session.On our first trip away as parents- I managed to pump 50oz of food for my baby and safely save it to bring home. At Puerto Vallarta Airport, I was told that if you travel withOUT your baby- you canNOT bring breastmilk- at. all. No testing, no doctors note, no anything. Hours of work, 30 DAYS of food for my child- GONE. I was in tears- moms get it. 😭It’s *extremely* obvious when men make laws without women in the room. Moms work SO hard for our babies, if we can go back to work, take 2 days off (while they’re safely with grandma!), or have a sick day and know they can still be fed well- then what does that mean for the well-being of children? It broke my heart to throw away all that effort (and yes, I researched first- the laws vary and I was told to ask at the airport)- and hoping that this is something that *most* countries will offer consideration too, for the interest of our kids. Mamas, just a note when picking a spot to visit while breastfeeding (this is NOT an issue flying domestically in the USA, I have had *zero* issues!) 👍🏾
