Check the weather for the day you arrive AND the 10 days before you arrive.

Here's why:

A destination can show sunny skies during your vacation, but if it rained heavily the week before, you could still encounter:
Rough ocean conditions
Poor snorkeling visibility
Muddy hiking trails
More mosquitoes
Beach erosion or seaweed wash-up

On the flip side, a little rain in the forecast doesn't always mean a bad trip. Many tropical destinations have brief showers followed by beautiful evenings.

Travel Tip: About a week before you leave, check both the forecast and recent weather patterns so you know what to realistically expect and what to pack.
