This was from a warranty inspection today. Brand new house.

Builder HVAC sub decided to pull attic air into the house on one system (photo 1) and forgot to add a damper control for the other system (photo 2).

Pulling attic air into the system can bring in insulation, dust, insects, and/or possible various animal odors.

Not having a damper control on the fresh air intake meant that when they ran their heat in the winter, there was so much fresh air coming in from the outside that they could feel cold air coming out of the return vent!
