For very quick trips to Paris, I will often recommend that you not climb the Eiffel Tower. I do suggest you go see it, maybe have a picnic in the gardens below it. And definitely take some photos! But if you’re short on time, you might not want to spend it in lines. You can use that saved time with other more enriching experiences - like maybe an afternoon private cruise on the seine with champagne, gliding past the Eiffel Tower.

But if seeing Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower is your #1 must-do and a trip wouldn’t be complete without it, then you’d want to make time for that, even during a short trip. What matters to you makes a huge difference in how you should spend your time on a trip. This is part of intentional planning - with the right information and understanding your priorities, your trip is infinitely better.

Don't over-schedule or think you *have* to see everything. You’ll want to hit some of the highlights – especially the ones that are important to you. But don’t forget about the quiet moments when you’re just having a picnic in a park. Or walking down tiny streets with no agenda. Or even pulling out a book by a fountain an enjoying the atmosphere. These are also things that make a great trip. They don’t have to be pre-planned, but you do have to allow time for them! And I promise, it’s worth it!
