Set up QuickBooks Bank Rules so repeat vendors auto-categorize. It takes minutes to set up and can save hours every month.

How to do it:

- Banking > Rules > New rule
- Name your rule (e.g., “Stripe fees”)
- Conditions: “Description contains [Vendor Name]”
- Transaction type: Expense/Transfer/etc.
- Category: Choose the correct account (e.g., Bank Fees)
- Payee: Set the vendor
- Auto-apply this rule: ON

Pro tips:

- Start broad, then tighten conditions if a rule catches the wrong items.
- Add multiple keywords for the same vendor (common misspellings).
- Review the “For review” tab weekly to confirm rules are working.
