Let's talk Tyson vs Paul last night. I will start off by saying I was hoping Tyson would win that fight but let's be real about what happened. It was cool to see Iron Mike get in shape and walk down the ramp to the ring once again. However, from the opening bell it became very clear what Paul's gameplan was, make Tyson chase him and burn energy. That exposed two things about the 58-yr. old Tyson. His legs are no more, and he now lacks ability to move forward and launch the powerful combinations he was once known for. We can't blame Tyson for this. Father time caught up with him and won, but he deserves all of the credit in the world for giving it a shot at his age. It also became clear that Tysons balance is gone. Every time Paul landed cleanly Tyson stumbled. Many people believe this fight was fixed or just a payday for Tyson or both Paul and Tyson. I don't believe that. What I do think is that Paul realized he could have put Tyson on the canvas at any time had he just attacked, but he didn't want to embarrass an aging legend. I agree with that sentiment. Paul could have taken him almost anytime. So, Paul deserves some credit here for realizing the situation. He had nothing to gain by knocking out Tyson at his age. Moving forward, Paul needs to step up the competition. Fight a real boxer in his prime or near it. Canelo would be interesting. There are a few others. As for Tyson, I feel like he needs to be done. It's clear the tools are not there anymore. He did what he set out to do. Give it one more go around. Thanks for the memories, Mike. I would like to forget this last one.
