Family Day Out

The hardest part of motherhood?
You don’t get to keep any version of them.

Not the newborn who fit perfectly on your chest.
Not the baby with tiny, chubby hands reaching for you.
Not the toddler who thought you hung the moon.

You don’t get to keep the little kid who begged you to “stay just one more minute” at bedtime.

Each version of them fades…
and a new one takes its place.
Beautiful, yes, but still… different.

Motherhood is loving, letting go,
and falling in love all over again.

No one warns you how much your heart will ache
for the versions you had to leave behind.

So hold them close.
Take the picture.
Soak it all in.

Because one day…
even these moments
will be the ones you’d give anything to relive.
