I had a consult with my Oncologist yesterday. The outcome of that visit is that the current
immunotherapy/chemotherapy drugs they are using for the last 8 years to counter my 4th stage lung cancer are no longer working. The cancer is spreading rapidly and there are no “new” drugs to slow it down.
The bottom line: I will die soon. There is nothing more Kaiser can do to prolong my life. How long do l have to live? There is no answer to that. Probably more than two weeks. Maybe a couple of months.
But, not a year.
I’m not saddened by this news. In fact I’m comforted by knowing what is coming. I will miss my family and friends, this allows me to get all of my affairs in order and I will get the most out of the time I have left.
To you I say: Don’t Mourn, Organize!
